And the startup capital is not hard to come by at all, once my economy gets going. Once they're built and manned, they just keep on producing. I haven't found it difficult to recoup my losses from farms. They will eventually become useless, but it takes a while. I've still gotten gold from farms at least several weeks into winter, long after all the wildlife had been hunted to extinction. New fields can't be planted in winter, but farmers can keep working the fields that are already there. And in any case 6 archers bring in just as much gold, and also serve as defense. You could build the whole boat almost for the cost of two farms and six farmers. ![]() The really big reason to not build farms is that they are expensive to get productive. And rabbits won't spawn inside your kingdom, so there's no reason not to have both farms AND rabbits.įarms don't work in the winter either right? I'm sure I saw my farmers toss their tools in the river. Rabbits do not respawn in the winter, so if you don't have farms by then, you won't have any income.
